Backend Engineer, Junior to Mid-Level

ABOUT THE ROLE Join a small engineering team building AI-native operations software for private markets. You will own core backend infrastructure that supports reliable, secure workflows across hosted and self-hosted deployments. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build and maintain backend systems for permissions, auditability, traceability, and observability. - Manage deployment architectures for hosted and self-hosted environments using infrastructure-as-code tools. - Improve production reliability, performance, and security. - Partner with product teams to deliver features while maintaining quality standards. - Apply AI-native development practices to support rapid, high-quality releases. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - One to six years of professional backend development experience. - Production experience building backend services with TypeScript and NestJS. - Production experience with PostgreSQL and Prisma. - Experience managing deployments with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi. - Experience improving production systems in areas such as reliability, security, performance, observability, or auditability. - Practical experience with AI, machine learning, large language models, or AI-native systems. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Compensation is €70,000 to €110,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION On-site in Berlin, Germany.
