Read our operating principles https://www.airwallex.com/en-us/operating-principles to see it in full.   HOW YOU'LL MAKE IMPACT You’ll architect, design, and implement large-scale, secure, and scalable systems for Airwallex’s lending platform. You’ll build robust services and secure APIs that help enterprise clients embed credit products into their own offerings, while laying the technical foundation for future financing products. - Own the design and delivery of robust services that power lending and credit products. - Build secure, scalable, and well-documented APIs that enable clients to embed and consume credit products within their own offerings. - Lead design reviews, advise on systems architecture, and mentor engineers to raise the bar on code quality and technical excellence. - Drive resilient distributed-systems design and engineering practices that support reliability, scalability, and security at global enterprise scale. - Improve platform stability and delivery efficiency through automated testing, code review, monitoring, and continuous improvement. - Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver effective lending solutions and stay close to industry trends that can strengthen the platform. This is an in-office role — you’ll be in our Singapore office five days a week. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR ESSENTIALS - A bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. - 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with strong exposure to modern engineering practices, continuous integration, and quality engineering. - At least 2 years in a technical leadership role, mentoring engineers and leading the definition and execution of engineering strategy. - A strong computer science foundation and object-oriented programming skills, with proven experience building backend systems. - Experience with Java or Kotlin and the Spring / Spring Boot framework, or strong transferable experience in another backend language and framework. - Extensive experience designing and building RESTful APIs, with familiarity with modern API design principles and tools. - Experience with domain-driven design and event-driven architectures in production environments. - A track record of designing and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency, highly available distributed systems at scale. - Cloud experience with GCP or AWS, including services such as EC2, RDS, ELB, or CloudFront, together with Docker and Kubernetes. - Familiarity with observability tooling such as Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus. - Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver effective lending or financial technology solutions. - A commitment to robust automated testing, code review, monitoring, and continuous improvement. PREFERRED - Experience with SaaS products offered as a platform.
